Society today. People who you see in the street, neighbours you live next to, no longer friendly neighbours, times have changed and the average killer could even be the girl next door. The Ordinary teen brunette angered through the day becomes enraged by night, provoked by broken Britain’s horrendously deranged youths of today’s society is driven to kill the disillusioned, drunken, sex driven youths of today. The youths are unaware of the dangers which are about to unravel as the girl next door begins to plot the deaths of the rebellious youths of today. The opening shows the broken streets of Britain with the drunken teens parading with their booze, a sequence of straight cuts show a young teen boy staggering back to his house and getting into bath. A jump cut is made to a close up of the knife, drenched by the ruby red blood of the killer. A jump cut of the boy in the bath, picture flashbacks animation shows the killings of friends. Flashbacks become ever more effective as the boy begins to drift off under the bubbles, as the water begins to cover the boy, the drunken boy falling asleep jumps up with the shock of a onlooker, menacing with disgust as a girl next is no longer the innocent person you say hi too...

Peter Connelly (also known as Baby P) was a 17-month old boy who died in London after suffering more than 50 injuries over an eight-month period, during which he was repeatedly seen by social services. The cruelty to baby P from his mothers boyfriend was convicted of raping a two-year-old girl. After the long running cruelty to young baby P, a post-mortem revealed he had swallowed a tooth after being punched. Other injuries included a broken back, broken ribs, having the tips of fingers sliced off, and nails pulled out. Reading and following the story throughout the year it saddens me to see how people could have the sickened mind to do this to an innocent one-year-old.

In my opinion the sentences given to the evil, vile people who are should be convicted for life are being treated like royalty when they are being given short worthless prosecutions and after their conviction given new identities, paid for accommodation and round-the-clock protection. The suffering of baby P went through should open the eyes of the juries to change the current conviction methods and start thinking about convictions that will bring at least try to reprehend and bring some justice to the pain baby P went through.

In Media Studies i watched the opening to Sev7n starring Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt. The story follows a retiring detective (Morgan Freeman) and his replacement (Brad Pitt), jointly investigating a series of ritualistic murders inspired by the seven deadly sins.

The opening begins with Morgan Freeman in the Kitchen making himself a cup of tea, the Kitchen is very simple white colour and looks functional as if it is just to use the kitchen for making food and drinks, nothing more like inviting people round to his house for dinner. Morgan Freeman then goes into the also simple, functional bedroom where we see Freeman putting on his uniform. We see Freeman putting his equipment layed out on his work-like table very organisely into his pockets ready for work. When i say work-like it suggests to me that his home is very much Functional more then homely as Freeman has tables in his house you would have in work not in a home and also his bed shows no emotion, for example their are no stylist pillows, it looks just a bed for sleeping and no more. Also whilst Freeman was getting eady their was contrasting darkened and shadowed lighting creating a silohette. Next we see Morgan Freeman looking at a murder scene analysing every part of the scene showing that he is the old school cop that does his job by the book.

Furthermore, New Detective Brad Pitt (Detective Mills) walks into the scence chewing gum, this indicates that Pitt has a cocky way about him as he chews confidently, also Pitt's appearence with his coat open and his gun and badge in sight shows he is new and fairly laid back, in contrast to Freeman as he has has gun hidden and badge hidden therefore this indicates that Freeman is quite secrative and show his old school morals whereas Pitt show he is the new kid on the block by leaving his gun in sight for others to see. Once leaving the murder scene the two begin to walk down the rainy gloomy thundery road, the thunder heard and the dull colours are reflecting the murder. Freeman and Pitt began to walk down the road, Freeman walking at a constant rhythm and speed in front of Pitt indicating that Freeman is the leader and the best cop, in contrast to Pitt who walks at different speeds to try and get in front of Freeman which indicates Pitt is eagar to be the best therefore the walk down the street show the audience competition between the two. Their clothes reflect them as two different people as Freeman wears his coat closed and his hat, shirt, tie done up to his button, this all showing Freeman is secreative, don't want to give anythink anyway to no one. Pitt on the other hand has his coat open tie loose, this shows that Pitt is very open and laid back. We then see Freeman about to go to bed with his two big Lamps on, and this shows that he may have paranoi from all of the murders Freeman has deal with and don't feel safe. Freeman also has a ticker which he uses to fall asleep.

Moreover, the titles begin to role and we see the murderer cleaning and removing evidence from his fingers, cutting pictures and showing lots of writing in books, this is the murderers life. we see the murderer in black and white adcept for occasionally when we see the colour red appear giving the audience a warning of danger or blood. Showing the murderer in black and white also indicates that the murderer see nothing in between its like you have to be either good or bad.

Media Manefesto

To sum myself up as a student, i am hardworking, enthusiastic student. i was very happy with my GCSE resultsas i achieved 9 out of 9 A* to C grades with three B's and six C's. I chose Media Studies because i am interested in how the Media influences life through television, Film, Radio, Newspapers and so on. One target i am going to set myself is to keep up to date with the tasks set as i feel if i fall behind it will then stop me from getting my best possible grade. Once i have finished my time at Welling's 6Form i would like to have a career in music like in a band or i would love to be part of a live musical production, for example 'We will rock you'. The AS course will help me to understand the way Media works. One obstacle i may have to overcome in to keep on track with the tasks set, but all in all i will keep the class happy hopefully and will make sure their will always be a disscusion.

Why was Big Brother 09 a flop?

Big Brother 2009 was had the worst ratings ever in the long running history of the ten year reality show. In my opinion i believe the show was such a flop because of the people who were put into the house as personally i found the housemates boring. Over the ten years of the reality show i believe that the show has lost the usual ten million viewers reduced to two million because they did not want to watch of contant smoking from the housemates at the big brother bus stop. The final also produced low ratings as the public could not see the point of watching a show which was good at the beggining but over the years to know the public are seeing the same types of people each year, in my opinion, predictable.

Big Brother 2009

Big brother came back onto our screens in June and has been more then eventful with it being Big Brothers Ten year anniversary, of course the house would'nt live up to the expectations without the following housemates; Angel, Bea, Beinazir, Cairon, Charlie, David, Freddie, Hira, Issac, Karly, Kennith, Kris, Lisa, Marcus, Noirin, Saffia, Siavash, Sophia, Sophie, Sree, Tom.

This is Angel, she is 35 years old professional boxer from London.Angel spent very little time in the house after being evicticted

The next housemate is Bea, she is 24 years old and a recruitment consultant in bristol. Bea was one of the late housemates brought into the house round about the half way stage to shake up the house, when walking into the house her popularity grew with the viewers falling for the relationship soon forming between her and other housemate Freddie. Bea soon became aware which caused an outburst of areguments and a relationship lost. Bea was ever so recently evicted for her Two-faced attitude towards groups in the house leading to her dislike.

The third housemate is Beinazir, she is a 28 year old woman from London who works as a study support assitant. Beinazir was the first of Big brother 10 to be evicted from the house.

This is Cairon, The music-mad teenager reckons he'll be the joker of the House. Cairon is a 18 year old student who wernt in to long in Big Brother after being evicted a few weeks into the show.

This the ever so popular Geordie housemate Charlie. Charlie is 22 years of age and is a customer service advisor. Charlie tipped to win is won over the public with his honest caring attitude towards others.

The next housemate is 28 year old David from Dewsbury, along with Bea, David entered the Big Brother house later on and has been fairly popular within and out of the big brother house, although does smoke very frequently.

This is 24 year old Freddie but whilst in big was officially called Halfwit. reddie works as a web programmer. whilst in Big Brother the hatred from the other housemates eventually changed to likness as the housemates realised that his down to earth attitude was his real personality.
The fond favourite soon was evicted after his luck run out when he was finally evicted after narrowly missing eviction for constant weeks on end, Freddie was finally evicted.

The girl from Dublin Hira is 24 years of age, she is an unemployed fasion designer. Also arriving with David and Bea late into the house she will be foundly remembered for her awful singing and her dansing which will be remembered by the public and housemates as it left all viewers in stitches with laughter. Hira was later evicted after loosing the popularity vote instead of being evicted for the usual hated from the public.

The American entertainer is Issac, his brief introduction to the house caused fireworks when fellow housemate Noirin realised under the helmet was her ex boyfriend. Issac only coming into the house to win back his ex soon walked out of Big Brother the following day when Norin was evicted.

This is 21 year old Carly from Fife who is a model. Carly with her upfront attitude made friends within the house and also on the other hand had her foes. Carly was evicted in the going into the the middle stages of
Big Brother.

The 24 year old Kenneth is the boyfriend of fellow housemate Karly. Kenneth is an international playboy and along with that is very wealthy, bragging to fellow housemates about his wealth soon sparked conversations until housemates infact became bored of his bragging. Kenneth soon jumped out of Big Brother when his girlfriend Karly was evicted as the reason Kenneth entered the house was to be with her .

The next housemate is Kris who is 24 years old and is from Manchester. whilst in the house Kris had a romance with fellow housemate Sophie once in the house. Kris was evicted from the house with being in the house for a few weeks, but i feel he was voted out for the arrogance and cockeyness shown in the house.

The 41 year old tattooed covered Lisa is the next housemate. With her strong authority with the moment she stepped in throughout the series nothing has changed. A very bitchy woman and uses her strong authority to stay in and escape nominations for eviction. Lisa is very wierd and is trying to get people on side to not put her up for eviction therefore guranteeing hersellf to have a chance of winning.

Marcus from Brentford with his constant swearing is 35 years of age. Marcus rollercoaster of a ride has had ups and downs, with failing to win the heart of fellow housemate Noirin, Marcus began to get the publics sympathy for being mis-led. Marcus's constant swearing is quite irritating because for the younger viewers they may immitate Marcus's strong words.





Noirin is the 25 year old Dublin girl of the Big brother house. the fairly likable Norin soon became abrupt because of her leading on of so many male housemates. Noirin told fellow housemate Marcus she had no interest in a relationship with him then unexpectedly kissed other housemate and Marcus's friend Siavash. Noirins dramatic last day caused fireworks when her ex boyfriend Issac entered to win back his ex, the Dublin lass fell back into his arms causing her hatred from the fellow housemates she hurt.

Brazillian born Rodrigo is a fond favourite within and out of the Big Brother house for his honest attitude. the Brazillian born Rodrigo is liing in Manchester and is a student. His aregumentative side is fairly annoying at times.

The 27 year old Saffia, single mum of two was voted out of the Big Brother house quite early and therefore the public did not see enough of her, certainly i didn't to give an overall opinion. The short time showed me she always wanted it her way and what she wants is what she gets.

The Londoner Siavash who is 23 years old is in my opinion a very good housemate. Siavash went into the house with a girlfriend but may have to leave and find out that he does not have one no more as his fling with fellow housemate Noirin became arroused over a number of weeks causing distrupition as his best friend in the house Marcus also liked her. It is annoying to see Siavash keep deciding not to vote but that is the way he is.

Sophia aged 26 is a take everyday as it comes attitude and her days in the house showed this. Sophia did not have enough time to express herself as she was voted out quite soon.

The 20 year old Cheshire Model Sophie is the most sweetest, dippy blonde to walk into the house. Sophie soon fell for fellow housemate Kris. The sweet girl is fondly loved in the house and by the public. Approching the final Sophie may be a big outsider to win.

The Indian student Sree started out a very sweet man just wanting to talk and make people happy, but over the weeks sree's attitude turned into anoyance for me personally. I felt sree just wanted to tell people his feelings when his fellow housemates was bored of his same information.

The last housemate Tom arrived with his muscle buldging body with fellow housemates Bea, David, Hira and Kenneth. Tom had the girls eyes glued to him and his body until his time in the house came to the end as he walked for being bored. Tom in my opinion was boring as he jut worked out in the garden.
